With the help of Spike, she picks out a suitable stallion for the night and performs the spell. She sequesters herself within her castle for the entire pregnancy, embarrassed to show herself among her subjects in a weakened state. She has the foals within her study, Spike as her only comfort. This is a few days after the foals are born. Twilight makes a very protective mother to the foals who she hopes against hope will become the friends that she misses so much... if even for just a little while. "
